The General Overseer of The Lord’s Chosen Pastor Lazarus Muoka has called on Nigerians to use the period of Easter to promote peace and love in the country, adding that it is the right way to acknowledge and appreciate what Jesus did for humanity, he said if there was a time Nigerians need peace the most in this country it is at this challenging period in the life of the nation.
He said: “Easter is inextricably tied to peace, hope and blessings and these are the intangible chords which help people to get beyond the sad and sordid situations that might bug them down.
“Therefore no matter how difficult or challenging a situation or condition may be, having knowledge of the resurrection will remind us of Christ’s defeat over death.”
He said stated that if Nigerians will acknowledge and appreciate this wonderful work of grace and by this invitation return to their God, then the political and economic woes that have characterised our society will become a thing of the past, and our expectation that things will get better if we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savour.”
Meanwhile, the church says she has rescheduled her 2-day Easter programme titled: ‘God’s Covenant of Peace and Blessings to
Saturday March 30 and Sunday, March 31, 2024
It added that the crusade which will take place at The Chosen Revival Ground, along Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, by Ijesha, Bus Stop, Lagos, will commence at 8am daily.
Pastor Chidi said the Special programme is divinely designed to bring afresh the significance of Easter, which symbolises the victory of Jesus Christ over death, and by extension, the victory over hopelessness and misery.
He explained that it is at Easter that people are reminded of how God sent His son to die as a sacrifice for the sin of mankind and thus, rescued them from the inevitable eternal destruction.
Chidi also informed that Easter brings that optimism that no matter how difficult or how challenging a situation or condition may be, having knowledge of the resurrection, will remind everyone that if Jesus could defeat death, then all things are possible.
“It also suggests that as bad as the prevailing situation might appear, there is the expectation that things will get better if we accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour.”
He advised Nigerians to use the opportunity availed by the occasion of this year’s Easter to promote peace and love in the country, as this is the only way they can acknowledge and appreciate what Jesus has done for humanity.
He said that God has offered the world everlasting peace at no cost; however the cost will be high if they reject this free offer.
Chidi stated further that the programme, as usual, was expected to attract an unprecedented crowd, going by what was witnessed at the last event. So, participants are advised to come on time.
