The Presidency has stated that the myriad of Federal Government projects being executed in Imo State justify the President Bola Tinubu-led administration’s removal of fuel subsidy.
Director of Media and Publicity for the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA), Tunde Rahman, made the statement in Owerri, the Imo State capital, during the RHA media tour of the state on Wednesday.
While assuring states yet to enjoy the full benefits of the removal of fuel subsidy that they would experience them very soon, the RHA spokesperson said:
“From all the projects we have seen so far, we can confirm the beauty and significance of states to be in alignment with the centre for the purpose of development.”
“We can confirm it with the federal government’s upgrade of the Teaching Hospital and the College of Education in Owerri. And like the Honourable Commissioner said, the projects have provided employment to the people of Imo State. More importantly, we can see that Governor Hope Uzodimma has executed essentially Federal Government projects.”
“He is doing it to support the federal government in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda. There is also a wing of TETFUND in the College of Education to facilitate the FG’s NELFUND. We can see that the government of President Tinubu is a thinking administration in removing fuel subsidy.

“It also shows that the removal of subsidy is a well-thought-out decision. Normally, when you have a fund like that, it helps everyone to see the beauty of it. The confessions from the governors of the states the Renewed Hope Ambassador Media Tour has visited confirmed that making funds available has helped them to implement projects. But, if the full benefits have not come to some states till now, it will come in no distance time,” he promised.
Earlier, Imo State Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, had attributed the landmark projects executed in the state to the partnership with the Federal Government.
“Several governments have ruled Imo State but none was able to accomplish what Governor Uzodimma has been able to accomplish. One such example is the Alvan Ikoku College of Education, one of the oldest Colleges of Education in the country and among the six Colleges of Education upgraded to Federal University Colleges of Education.
“Previous governments tried to achieve the upgrade but none of them was able to realise it. Everybody is happy that it was realised under Governor Uzodimma and happier that the Federal Government projects have attracted a number of employment opportunities.
“And as we speak, the school authority has advertised for employment, and it is going to be majorly Imo State indigenes. The conversation has attracted a number of benefits to the state. We are very thankful to the federal government for graciously upgrading the institution,” he said.
