MTN Nigeria has made a strong showing at the ongoing Lagos International Trade Fair with its MoMo Payment Service Bank (PSB), showcasing innovative solutions aimed at driving cross-border trading across Africa.

The 10-day event, which commenced yesterday at the Tafawa Balewa Square, attracted a large turnout of visitors to the MoMo stand, where attendees made enquiries and explored various MTN products and services.

MoMo PSB, a subsidiary of MTN Nigeria, is a mobile banking platform offering a range of digital financial services, including money transfers, bill payments, and cash deposits and withdrawals. The platform is designed to extend banking access to individuals and small businesses, especially in rural or underserved communities, with a focus on deepening financial inclusion.

Speaking at the fair, Chief Commercial Officer of MTN MoMo PSB, Rosemary Aimankhu, said the company’s goal at the event is to create greater awareness of its services, engage directly with customers, and gather feedback.
“We’re here to bring our services closer to customers, allow them to experience MoMo firsthand, and share their feedback,” Aimankhu said. “We also have exciting giveaways for visitors who engage with us during the fair.”
For Chidalu Okeke, Head of Marketing at MoMo PSB, the MTN’s participation underscores its commitment to supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and empowering cross-border payments for businesses.
“We’re delighted to be at the trade fair as the Pan-African digital payment partner,” Okeke stated. “Our goal is to strengthen cross-border payment systems so small businesses can expand into new markets across Africa. Currently, MoMo PSB operates in over 16 African countries, helping entrepreneurs connect and trade seamlessly.”
Okeke added that MoMo PSB remains dedicated to advancing financial inclusion, especially for the informal sector, by making international money transfers easier and more accessible.
A satisfied customer, Veronica Kelechi, praised the MoMo banking app, describing it as banking made easy.
Customers can access MoMo services through the USSD code *671# to open accounts, locate agents, or perform basic transactions. However, downloading the MoMo app offers full access to advanced features such as managing accounts, paying bills, and sending money conveniently, ensuring both smartphone and feature phone users enjoy seamless digital banking.
The Momo stand at the fair is strategically positioned opposite the Africa Hall, which is providing a shared space where businesses from across the African continent can forge partnerships, establish trade networks, and accelerate intra-African trade. As a strategic platform aligned with the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA), this hall serves as a gateway for new alliances that drive inclusive economic development across the continent.
So visitors and customers to the hall and others can take advantage and make easy transfers through the Momo PSB.
