Amid rising attacks on military bases in Northern Nigeria, the Arewa Youth Assembly has charged the Federal Government to take decisive actions against those allegedly fueling the security in the country so as to ensure and stability in Nigeria.

The youth group also implored the government to provide more logistics, including drones, real time intelligence platforms for security agencies in the country, to boost their performance, stating that this is necessary to give a boost to the security agencies in the fight against bandits, terrorists and other criminal groups, operating under various guise in different parts of country.

The Northern group, which spoke through their speaker, Mohammed Danlami, expressed concern that insecurity seems to spike, whenever the country is approaching a general election said that there is need for the government to take decisive action against those allegedly fuelling the security challenges confronting the country.

According to him, “It raises a fundamental unavoidable question. Why is it that it is only when elections draw near, insecurity surges across the land? Pattern analysis of the last three election cycles shows the same signature, a sharp spike in kidnapping, banditry and coordinated arson. This is not coincidence, this is coordination.

“This is not merely reckless, it is dangerous to the very survival of Nigeria, a warning to the destabilizers. Let this message be unmistakably to all involved in this destructive enterprise…Let us warn clearly and firmly, if this desperation is not checked immediately by the security agencies, Nigeria will face a simultaneous food and economic crisis.

Furthermore, Danlami said “we urge President Bola Tinubu to give them even more weapons, more drones, better logistics, and real-time intelligence platforms. Let them finish the job. Let them hunt down every political bandit and terrorist operating under any banner.”
