Doctors at a hospital in Fes, Morocco, have officially cleared Akor Adams’ mother of any health issues and discharged her.
After Nigeria’s impressive victory over Mozambique in the AFCON 2025 Round of 16, Akor promptly left the team camp to be with his mother, who was hospitalized. He took the time to visit her and dedicated his first AFCON goal to her before swiftly rejoining his teammates for training. He participated fully in the Super Eagles’ recovery session on Tuesday.

The Super Eagles Supporters Club confirmed this positive news, stating, “We are pleased to announce that Akor Adams’ mum was discharged from the hospital in Fes yesterday and has returned home to her family. We wish her continued good health and strength.”
Akor, now 25, made his debut for the Nigerian national team during the 2-1 victory against Lesotho in October. He has quickly established himself as a vital player in Eric Chelle’s squad, starting six of Nigeria’s seven matches alongside Victor Osimhen and netting three goals, including his first AFCON goal in Nigeria’s commanding 4-0 win against Mozambique.
