Monarch University, Iyesi, Ota, Ogun State, an arm of the Christ Royal Church, will throw its doors open for academic activities in September 2025.
Addressing newsmen, the Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Olaleke Ogunnaike, said Monarch University, which represents royalty was conceived to bridge the gap in the nation’s poor educational system.
According to him, the curriculum of the university is well crafted in such a way that the goal, vision and mission within four years will produce graduates with good morals, spiritually developed minds and those with entrepreneurial acumen that will give them the platform to be employer of labours.
“The mission statement of the university is to produce skilful graduates that will be equipped through functional education and new value orientation that will bring development in the country. We are not shying away from the fact that we are a Christian university,” he stressed.
The DVC disclosed that the vision of the university is to provide opportunities for academic excellence and will focus on entrepreneurship, adding, “our curriculum has been crafted to take our students through the entrepreneurship skills acquisition.”
Ogunnaike revealed that the university took off with two faculties, Faculty of Humanities, Management and Social Sciences with eight courses and Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences with six courses.
“So, the university is well equipped. We believe that students that will pass through the university will not only be spiritually sound, but will be entrepreneurial good.”
