From Paul Orude, Bauchi
Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has moved to calm the internal crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, taking up the role of chairman of a newly formed high-powered consultative committee to steer reconciliation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The decision emerged from an emergency stakeholders’ meeting convened by the governor in response to growing factional tensions and concerns over the timeline for submission of party candidates.
The closed-door session, held at the Government House, brought together key party figures and highlighted the seriousness of the situation within the state chapter of the PDP.
