The Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) has issued a landmark ₦86,000,000.00 death-benefit cheque to the family of a Mobil Producing Nigeria worker—the largest single payout in the Fund’s latest Lagos compensation tour.
Handing over the cheque, Managing Director Barrister Oluwaseun Faleye stated:
“High-risk industries prove why the Employees’ Compensation Scheme is indispensable. When tragedy strikes, compliance ensures families are not left destitute.”
Executive Director, Operations, Hon Mojisolaoluwa Alli-Macaulay highlighted that NSITF processed 22,350 claims in 2024, reflecting reforms that have slashed turnaround times and tightened governance.
The Fund calls on all employers—especially those in hazardous sectors—to maintain full ECS compliance and guarantee robust protection for their workforce.
