Mob Lynch suspected thief in Osun

A suspected thief simply identified as Loni, was on Sunday lynched by some people at Ilesa, Osun State, for alleged motorcycle theft.
It was gathered that the deceased was caught by residents of Ireti-Ayo street, Ilesa while trying to whisk away a motorcycle he allegedly snatched from an unsuspecting owner.
An eyewitness revealed that the deceased was alleged to have robbed a motorcyclist at the late hour of Saturday and he was caught while trying to bring the motorcycle out from the house where he hid it.
The spokesperson of the Osun police command, Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the incident.
She explained that the incident happened around 8:30am on Sunday at Ireti-Ayo, along Ijebu-Jesa road, Ilesa.
Opalola said, “the deceased, who during his lifetime happened to be a thief, specialized in stealing motorcycles in Ilesa. He was said to have been killed by mob action in an attempt to steal a motorcycle parked by the roadside.”
She explained that the corpse of the deceased has been deposited at Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesa, while the investigation is ongoing on the matter.
