Two men accused of engaging in same-sex sexual activities have been attacked in a mob action by members of the Akumazi community, in Delta State.

In the incident which took place on Thursday in the community, both men were severely beaten during the attack. One of the men narrowly escaped before police arrived and took control of the situation, while the other was left critically injured.
The survivor identified as Lucky Onyisi, a Nigerian national, fled the area and his whereabouts remained unknown after the attack.
Following the incident, Onyisi was publicly identified as being involved in the alleged same-sex relationship. Reports also claim that he has been declared wanted by the Nigerian authorities and that members of the public were encouraged to provide information regarding his whereabouts to the authorities if found.
