The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), said its troops from Sector 3 in Mongunu , Nigeria have killed 15, terrorists in its ongoing clearance operations to dismantle terrorist operating at Kukawa, in Borno state.
The troops also destroyed three additional Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Devices (VBIEDs), bringing the total number of VBIEDs destroyed to seven and captured of a significant cache of weapons, including 7 AK-47 rifles, one Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) bomb and tube, 2 Anti-aircraft guns, and 152 Shilka rounds of ammunition .

MNJTF Chief Military Information Officer Lieutenant Colonel Olaniyi OSOBA, who made this known, said the troops in a joint effort with hybrid force and air component support, intercepted and neutralized some fleeing wounded ISWAP terrorists and captured additional cache of weapons.
Osoba, said that During the meticulously coordinated air and ground clearance operations, own air component successfully targeted and interdicted several armed and wounded terrorists on motor bikes regrouping in Guzamala. In a follow-up ground operation, troops eliminated 15 terrorists and one captured alive as they attempted to flee after sustaining more injuries.
The ongoing clearance operation marks a decisive step in the ongoing efforts to restore peace and security in the region, further weakening the terrorists ranks. The MNJTF remains steadfast in its commitment to eradicating terrorist threats and ensuring the safety of the local population.
