Inter Miami captain, Lionel Messi has provided two primary reasons for joining the Major League Soccer (MLS) team.

The Argentina attacker signed with Inter Miami as a free agent after leaving Paris Saint-Germain in 2023.

The 37-year-old has been excellent since joining Inter Miami, winning two big titles for the club.

Speaking about his decision to join Inter Miami, Messi said wanted to help the club “become bigger and also give the MLS more power as a global brand.”

“I always had in mind to try a new chapter in MLS. I always wanted this move,” Messi said as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

“Inter Miami attracted me as the club is growing, developing… I wanted to come here to help the club become bigger, also giving the MLS more power as a global brand.”

Messi will hope to lead Inter Miami to victory when they face Houston Dynamo in the MLS clash on Monday.

The former Barcelona star scored a goal in Inter Miami’s 3-1 win against Sporting Kansas City on Wednesday.
