The Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja. has been cut- out from power source owing to the vandalization and thief of it’s cable wires supplying electricity to the 60,000 – seat  stadium.

Our investigation revealed that the stadium which house the Minister for sports development, Senator John Enoh and a sub – station of the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), has been without electricity for some period now due to the power outage course by the vandalization of the cable wires.

A Top official of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company ( AEDC) who prefer to remain anonymous told www. sportsunlimited, that it will cost about 1billion to restore electricity back to the Abuja National stadium.

He added that, “considering the current exchange rate, and bearing the fact that some of the vandalized cables and other things will be brought in from overseas makes it difficult to quote the actual amount to restore electricity back to the stadium.” He said

The Moshood Abiola National stadium, Abuja.was built with the cost of N54 billion  about ($360 million) in 2003.

And  was refurbished by Nigeria business mogul Alh. Aliko Dangote with the cost of $1m in 2022.
