Mixta Africa has handed over keys to 27 new homeowners at its Ibudo Wura affordable housing community along the Lekki-Epe Expressway, bringing the number of completed homes in the estate to 192.

The latest handover adds to the real estate developer’s more than 20-year record of delivering over 30,000 homes across Africa.

The company said the latest delivery underscored its commitment to completing projects and giving homebuyers possession of properties they have paid for.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Group Chief Commercial Officer, Mixta Africa, Tola Akinsulire, said taking possession was one of the most important stages in the relationship between a developer and its customers.

“Handing over keys is one of the most important moments in our relationship with a customer because it is when our promise becomes tangible,” he said.

Akinsulire said buying a home was a major financial and emotional commitment, adding that customers needed confidence that developers would deliver on their promises.

“Today, 27 more families have taken possession of homes they can call their own. Our responsibility is to keep earning that trust through consistent delivery across our communities,” he said.

One of the homeowners, Mrs Soprinye Banjo, said she was satisfied with the quality of the homes and the environment.

“What I am seeing today is good quality for the price. It is an excellent job done. I like the environment. Speaking with the engineers and facility managers today, I am confident that my family is in good hands,” she said. Another homeowner, Mrs Yetunde Oyegunle, said she was impressed with the estate after being introduced to it by a friend. “I was overwhelmed by what I saw and I am happy because this is real.

The estate is beautiful, the home finishing is excellent and the environment is conducive,” she said.

She added that she would recommend the development to people seeking to own homes.

The company said access to financing had also helped some buyers to acquire homes at Ibudo Wura.

According to Mixta Africa, buyers could access financing with as little as 10 per cent equity payable over six months, interest rates of 9.75 per cent per annum and repayment periods of between five and 20 years.

The financing is available through the Ministry of Finance Incorporated Real Estate Investment Fund (MREIF).

Mixta Africa said homes were still available at Ibudo Wura, with prices starting from N58.319 million for one-bedroom apartments and two-bedroom row houses and H-type units.

It said buyers could make outright purchases or use six- and 12-month installment payment plans.
