The Ministry of Police Affairs has acquired seven modified light tactical (MLT) armoured personnel carriers (APCs) for the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) to bolster security operations.

Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations, Bolaji Oladimeji Kazeem, announced this in a statement, noting that Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, revealed the procurement during an inspection of the vehicles.

Moreover, Gaidam, accompanied by Permanent Secretary Dr Anuma Ogbonaya Nlia and senior ministry officials, emphasised that the APCs, funded through the ministry’s budgetary allocation, aim to enhance the NPF’s ability to protect lives and property. He stated, “They are supposed to use them professionally to combat insecurity in the country.”

The minister noted the vehicles’ role in strengthening police operations, ensuring they are deployed effectively to address Nigeria’s security challenges.
