Minister of State for Works Bello Muhammad Goronyo has called for collaborative efforts among building professionals to drive transformative change, strengthen socio-economic foundations, and unlock new opportunities for progress.

The minister made this statement at the 2nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Sokoto Professionals Network (SPN), which aims to unite professionals to achieve sustainable development in Sokoto State.

He described the theme of the AGM, “Year of Consolidation and Progress,” as timely, emphasising that unity and professionalism are essential for progress. He also urged members of the association to remain steadfast and leverage their knowledge and skills for success.

Goronyo praised the initiative of bringing diverse professionals together for the development of Sokoto State and assured them of the Federal Government’s support.

“This is a transformative step towards strengthening our socio-economic foundation, unlocking new opportunities, and unleashing the potentials for progress,” he said.

Representing the Governor of Sokoto State, Ahmed Aliyu, at the event, the Senior Special Assistant on Political and Legal Matters, Barrister Ghandi Umar Mohammed, commended the network’s strategic approach to fostering development. He encouraged participants to organise workshops to enhance their personal and professional growth.

The Chairman of SPN, Engineer Zayyanu Tambari Yabo, highlighted the network’s achievements, stating that since its inception a year ago, it has trained about 100 youth in solar installation and maintenance techniques. These individuals are now gainfully employed and, in some cases, employers of labour.

He reaffirmed the network’s commitment to sustainable development by empowering professionals to drive transformative change and shape a brighter future for upcoming generations.

The network also organised a one-day Management Retreat and Capacity Building Workshop aimed at enhancing participants’ knowledge of critical thinking and strategic planning.

In a statement, notable dignitaries including the Special Adviser to the Governor on Economic Matters, Dr. Bashir Achida, and Dr. Balarabe Shehu Kakale, a former member representing Dange-Shuni Federal Constituency, pledged their unwavering support for the association’s development-focused agenda.
