The free quarterly online training programme of Media Integrity Initiative Africa (MIIA) is set for its 6th edition.
The two-day virtual training, which holds on August 15 and August 22, reaffirms the platform’s commitment to nurturing ethical, innovative and future-ready media professionals across Africa.

Since its inception, MIIA has continued to provide practical, high-impact professional development opportunities for journalists, editors, broadcasters, public relations practitioners and other communication professionals and enthusiasts.

According to Femi Akintunde-Johnson, Coordinator, Media Integrity Initiative Africa, the August cohort reflects the initiative’s continued focus on equipping participants with the knowledge and skills required to navigate today’s rapidly evolving media landscape.
The programme’s facilitators include Tony Onyima, former Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief, The Sun Newspapers, former Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Anambra State, and Managing Consultant, Bridgehead Communications Network; Adeboye Ola, veteran journalist and Deputy Provost, Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Lagos; Oluyinka Shokunbi, President, Network of Reproductive Health Journalists of Nigeria; and Managing Editor, HealthStylePlus Online; as well as Azu Ishiekwene, former Editor/Executive Director, The Punch, and currently Senior Vice Chairman/Editor-in-Chief, Leadership Newspapers.
