The Prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria, Oliver Ali Aba, has called on Nigerians, especially Christians to deepen their faith and live upright lives in line with the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Aba emphasized the importance of spiritual renewal, urging believers to draw closer to God and uphold values that promote peace and unity.  “If we follow the footsteps of Jesus Christ, our families, nations, we ourselves will be at peace with one another”.

He stated this during an interview with Saturday Sun at the church Headquarters, Marina, Lagos

His words: “Without God, we can do nothing. As Christians, we must reflect the teachings of Christ in our daily lives. If we follow His example, there will be peace in our nation, in our families, and within ourselves.”

The cleric also expressed concern over insecurity and violence affecting parts of Nigeria, noting that many communities continue to face challenges.

He called for divine intervention and urged citizens, regardless of religious affiliation, to embrace peaceful coexistence.

“Let us live and allow others to live,” he said, stressing the need for tolerance, unity, and collective efforts toward building a more peaceful society.

Aba called on the government to know that wherever Christians are living today, they don’t have peace, saying, “all we are asking for is that God who can change negatively to positively should visit Nigeria Christians, Iran and other parts of the world.”

He emphasised that Iran has been seen as an evil society which exists to make sure Christianity is wiped off of the map of the world, but such would not happen.
