The Argentine superstar opened his account in the 74th minute with a delicate chip over the goalkeeper after receiving a pinpoint pass from Sergio Busquets.
He sealed his brace in the 86th minute with a solo run into the box, firing into the far post to cap off the rout.
Messi’s performance marked his eighth multi-goal game of the season, placing him among an elite group in MLS history.
Inter Miami broke the deadlock just before halftime in the 43rd minute when Baltasar Rodríguez slotted home a low shot after being set up by Messi’s through ball, which originated from a visionary pass by Busquets in midfield.
Luis Suárez added the third goal from the penalty spot in the 83rd minute, converting confidently for his seventh of the campaign.

The win extended Inter Miami’s unbeaten streak and secured their third straight playoff appearance, with head coach Javier Mascherano emphasizing the importance of the result.
“We’re happy because now we’re officially qualified for the playoffs. That was very important for us,” Mascherano said post-match.
“Now we have to keep moving forward. We know we have two games in hand, so now we’ll try to rest, recover, and get ready for Toronto.”
Goalkeeper Óscar Ustari preserved a clean sheet with key saves, including a denial of Thiago Martins’ header in the 21st minute.
Inter Miami controlled much of the game, outshooting NYCFC 12-9 and earning five corners to their four, despite near-even possession at around 50% each.
