Megamound Investment Limited, a prominent property development firm, has firmly denied ownership of the collapsed building that has been erroneously linked to it on social media.
In a statement made available to Daily Sun, the real estate firm debunked reports suggesting that the two-storey building, which collapsed on Tuesday, January 29, 2025, at Mobile Road, Inikpa in the Ikota area of Ajah, was within its estate.
“Our attention has been drawn to some alarming and misleading rumours stating that a building collapsed inside Lekki County Homes, an estate developed and managed by Megamound Investment Limited,” said Mr. Olumide Osunsina, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the company.
He clarified: “We categorically confirm that no building within Lekki County Homes has collapsed—now or in the past. Our investigation reveals that the incident occurred in a structure far outside our estate and has no connection whatsoever to our developments.”
Megamound urged the public to exercise caution and avoid spreading unverified claims, warning that any individual or entity found disseminating false or defamatory information could face legal action.
“Anyone found propagating misleading statements regarding this issue may be subjected to legal consequences, including claims for defamation, damages, and other remedies available under the law,” the statement added.
