Media outfit commends Ogun police for saving 18 stranded NYSC members from danger

A media organisation, Fresh FM Lagos, has commended the Ogun State Police Command, led by Commissioner of Police (CP) Bode Ojajuni, for rescuing 18 stranded National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members after the vehicle conveying them developed a mechanical fault at a dark and dangerous spot on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.

The corps members were left vulnerable after their vehicle broke down at night in a notorious black spot in Ogun State, an area reportedly known for kidnapping and other criminal activities. Following a distress call, police officers responded promptly, secured the area and safely evacuated the 18 passengers to Ijebu-Ode, where they were accommodated in a hotel.

Taiwo Akinsola Omobabawoli (Woli Ni Ilasamaja), General Manager of Fresh FM Lagos, expressed gratitude on behalf of the corps members and the NYSC family in a letter addressed to CP Ojajuni.

In the letter, the General Manager stated: “We are deeply appreciative that the Ogun State Police Command responded promptly to the distress call.

“Your officers arrived without delay, secured the scene, and ensured the safe evacuation of all 18 corps members. Their professionalism, courage and vigilance saved lives that night and prevented what could have been a tragic incident of national significance.”

He further commended CP Ojajuni, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the area and the patrol team for their swift and decisive action.

“This act of service goes beyond duty. It demonstrates the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force, under your leadership, to protecting lives and property. Your quick intervention has restored public confidence in the Force. The corps members and their families remain grateful for the swift police intervention.”
