The Chief Executive Officer of First Choice Afro Villa Ltd, Chief Jerry Onuokaibe, has declared that Governor Peter Mbah’s second-term bid is already assured, citing what he described as the governor’s visible developmental strides across Enugu State over the past three years.

Addressing journalists in Enugu, yesterday, Onuokaibe described the growing support Governor Mbah continues to enjoy across the state as a direct response to the administration’s performance in critical sectors, particularly infrastructure, education, healthcare, and road development.

He said the residents across communities have continued to rally behind the governor because they could clearly see evidence of governance through the delivery of Smart schools, Type 2 hospitals, roads, and other major infrastructure projects, many of which are already completed or nearing completion.

He noted that Governor Mbah’s developmental drive has significantly transformed his hometown, Mburubu, where the ongoing smart school, Type 2 hospital and road projects are all over 97 percent completed.

Onuokaibe, particularly, highlighted the impact of road construction in the area, revealing that what used to be a stressful three-hour journey from Enugu to Mburubu now takes barely 20 minutes due to improved road infrastructure.

He said the transformation has strengthened the resolve of the people of Mburubu to fully support the governor in the 2027 general elections.

“This is not about politics, but about what people can see and feel. Roads are open, schools are standing, and hospitals are coming alive. Our people now move freely without fear or delay. These are things we have talked about for years but never experienced.

“Take my community, Mburubu, for example. We now have quality road construction with proper drainage, a smart school and a Type 2 hospital, all over 97 percent completed. What used to take three hours from Enugu now takes about 20 minutes. That is the real government presence.

“That is why our people are happy with Governor Mbah and giving him massive support. I can confidently say no single vote from Mburubu will be found wanting in the next election,” he said.

Reacting to criticisms from opposition figures, Onuokaibe dismissed what he described as “manipulative and misleading attacks” against the governor, saying such actions reflect desperation from individuals unsettled by the pace of development in the state.

He said that opposition critics had expected their narratives to create resentment against the governor, but failed because residents remain focused on the visible changes taking place around them.

“They expected people to react to claims built on falsehood, but that has not happened. When people can see roads, improved security, schools and hospitals, it becomes difficult for anyone to distract them with propaganda,” he stated.

Commenting on Governor Mbah’s decision to align with the All Progressives Congress (APC), Onuokaibe described the move as politically strategic and beneficial to the continued development of the state.

He also dismissed claims that Enugu had lost direction since the governor joined the APC, insisting that such narratives do not reflect realities on ground.

“People who say things have gone down are not being fair to what is happening. You can travel across the state and see projects everywhere. Government is working, the impact is visible and people are benefiting from policies that are improving daily life.

“For us at the grassroots, we are seeing progress, and that is what should guide public discussion, not fear or wrong impressions,” he added.
