Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah has nominated six new commissioners as part of the ongoing changes in the Enugu State Executive Council, even as the Commissioner for Trade, Investment and Industry, Adaora Chukwu, has resigned from her position.

In a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, the governor forwarded the names of the nominees to the Enugu State House of Assembly for confirmation.

Those nominated include Benjamin Okoh, Prof. Benedeth Okoli, Enyinna Ogbonna, Dr. Samuel Ogbu-Nwobodo, Prof. George Ugwu and Ben Collins Ndu Jr.

Governor Mbah also approved the appointment of Dr. Godwin Anigbo, as the new Head of Service for the state. According to the SSG, the appointment takes immediate effect.

Meanwhile, Adaora Chukwu has announced her resignation as Commissioner for Trade, Investment and Industry in a statement.

Although no reason was given for her resignation, it came at a time the governor is making key appointments, possibly signalling a broader cabinet reshufflement.
