Mastercard has appointed Yasemin Bedir as President of its Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (EEMEA) region, effective September 1, 2026.
Bedir, a nearly 20-year veteran of Mastercard, will oversee the company’s operations across the expanded EEMEA region, which covers 81 countries and is considered one of the company’s high-growth markets.
She will be based in the United Arab Emirates and will be responsible for driving Mastercard’s strategy and business across the region, working with retailers, fintechs, financial institutions, governments and businesses.
Bedir will also join Mastercard’s Management Committee. She succeeds Dimitrios Dosis, who was recently appointed Chief Commercial Payments Officer, where he will lead the company’s Commercial and New Payment Flows business.
Commenting on the appointment, Mastercard’s Chief Business Officer, Sachin Mehra, described Bedir as a leader capable of delivering results while building strong relationships with customers and partners.
“Yasemin is a leader who finds the best in her teams to help them deliver the greatest impact for our customers and to fuel local economies,” Mehra said.
“This is a vast and complex region that demands creative thinking, proven results and strong relationships. Yasemin has delivered that throughout her career.”
He added that Bedir’s experience would help Mastercard work with customers and partners across EEMEA to shape the future of payments, commerce and money movement.
