The Chairman National Central Convention Planning Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Aminu Bello Masari, has assured that his committee will set a template for the future conduct of national Conventions for the ruling party.
Masari, former governor of Katsina State, gave the assurance on Friday during the inaugural and maiden meeting of the committee which took place in Abuja.
Speaking during the meeting, the former Speaker House of Representatives said: “The expectation of Nigerians, the people and the president is that we produce the best convention ever. The expectation is that we should also set a template for future conventions in the APC, and with the calibre of people in this committee, this expectation is almost given.”

Masari also assured the party’s stakeholders that his committee will be fair, transparent and objective in ensuring that the party will emerge more united ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He equally disclosed that his committee will work closely with the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) and all relevant organs of the party for coordination and effective delivery of the exercise to impact on the leadership and all members of the party.
Present at the meeting were the second Chairman, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, Secretary of the Committee and governor of Yobe state, Mai Mala-Buni, governor of Kano state, Abba Kabir Yusuf, Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris Malagi, Hadiza Bala Dikko, amongst many others.
