Marvellous Omobayo Sworn in as Edo State’s New Deputy Governor

In a formal ceremony presided over by the Chief Judge, Daniel Okungbowa, Marvellous Omobayo took the oath of office to assume his role as the Deputy Governor of Edo State. The swearing-in ceremony, held on Monday, marked the official commencement of Omobayo’s tenure in office.

Omobayo, an accomplished engineer with a rich background in the oil and gas sector, expressed gratitude to Governor Godwin Obaseki and the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party for entrusting him with the significant responsibility. In his inaugural address, he underscored his commitment to supporting Governor Obaseki’s agenda aimed at fostering peace, unity, and development in the state.

Born on July 19, 1986, Omobayo hails from Akoko Edo Local Government Area of Edo State. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, both from the University of Benin. With his professional qualifications and experience, including membership in esteemed engineering organizations such as the Nigerian Society of Engineers and the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, Omobayo is poised to contribute effectively to the governance and administration of the state.

Prior to his appointment, Omobayo served as a Senior Maintenance Engineer at Dresser Wayne West Africa Limited, where he demonstrated his expertise and contributed to business growth in the South-South region.

Omobayo’s ascension to the position of Deputy Governor signifies a strategic move towards harnessing professional expertise in driving the development agenda of Edo State. With a focus on sustainable progress and inclusive governance, his appointment heralds a new chapter in the state’s leadership under the stewardship of Governor Obaseki.
