Manchester United co-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is reportedly lining up Arsenal legend, Cesc Fabregas as possible replacement should manager, Ruben Amorim, bow out.

Rumours of Amorim’s imminent departure have continued to grow following sub-par performance since joining in November 2024.

The Portuguese tactician has managed just nine wins across his 33 Premier League matches in charge, with Saturday’s 3-1 defeat to Brentford the club’s 17th PL loss under his reign.

Some managers have been linked as possible replacements, including former England gaffer, Gareth Southgate and Crystal Palace’s Oliver Glasner.

According to i Paper, Amorim could resign to protect his reputation, which was high before joining United, although the club’s owners are believed to be backing him at least until the end of the current campaign.

FourFourTwo reports that Fabregas, who currently manages Italian Serie A side Como, is highly rated by Ratcliffe and has joined a shortlist of possible replacements for the Old Trafford job should Amorim resign or be ousted.
