Manchester United strengthened their push for a top-four finish in the Premier League after defeating Aston Villa 3–1 at Old Trafford.
Man United broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute when Casemiro headed home from a corner to give the hosts the lead after a tense first half with few clear chances.
Villa responded in the 64th minute as Ross Barkley found the back of the net to level the score following a VAR check.

However, Man United quickly regained control of the match in the 71st minute when Matheus Cunha restored the lead with a curling finish after being set up by Bruno Fernandes.
The home side sealed victory in the 81st minute when substitute Benjamin Šeško fired in a powerful strike to make it 3–1.
Fernandes’ assist in the match marked a milestone for the United captain, who reached 100 assists for the club.
