Man remanded over domestic violence

Lagos State Police Command has arrested Emeka Joseph over alleged assault occasioning harm and domestic violence involving his cohabiting partner, Ezeka Chisom. The arrest followed a viral video reporting the incident. Preliminary investigation showed the suspect assaulted the victim, leaving her with facial injuries. He has since been charged to court and remanded at Kirikiri Correctional Centre, with the case adjourned to August 3, 2026.

Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command,  Tijani Fatai,  said the Command has zero tolerance for all forms of domestic violence. He assured residents that cases involving violence and abuse will continue to receive prompt attention and diligent prosecution.

CP Fatai urged members of the public to promptly report incidents of domestic violence and other crimes to the nearest police station or formation. The Command reiterated its commitment to protecting vulnerable persons and ensuring perpetrators face the full weight of the law.
