Man beaten to death in Kano for making passes at married woman

A middle-aged man, Abubakar Auwal, has been beaten to death in Kano State for allegedly making passes at a married woman, Hafsat Umar.

A statement issued yesterday by the Kano State Police Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi  Kiyawa, disclosed that the victim was confirmed dead on arrival at the Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital.

According to the police, the woman’s husband, Abubakar Ali, 40, allegedly conspired with a 27-year-old man, Sulaiman Lawan, to lure the deceased to a secluded location, where they brutally assaulted him and left him unconscious.

The statement explained that upon receiving a distress report, police operatives immediately mobilised to the scene, where they found the victim in a coma. He was rushed to the Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital but was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.

Kiyawa said the corpse had been deposited at the hospital’s mortuary for an autopsy, while detectives had commenced a full-scale investigation into the incident.

He further disclosed that three suspects, including the woman’s husband, the woman herself and the alleged accomplice, had been arrested in connection with the incident.

According to him, the suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
