The police on Friday arraigned a 28-year-old man, Yusuf Lawal, before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan for allegedly stealing a cow valued at N1.2 million.
Lawal, whose address was not provided, was charged with conspiracy and stealing, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Samuel Owolabi told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Nov. 29 in Ido, Ibadan.
Owolabi alleged that the defendant and others now at large stole a cow worth N1.2 million, belonging to one Owolabi Adeyemi.
He said the offences contravened Sections 390(9) and 516 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs Gladys Oladele, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that she adjourned the case until January 8, 2026, for hearing.
