Man, 24, arraigned in court over alleged theft of clothes worth N3m

A 24-year-old man, Ifeanyi Nbanude, on Friday appeared before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, for allegedly stealing female clothes valued at N3 million.

Mbanude, whose address was not provided, was charged with a count charge of stealing.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that he defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The prosecutor, Inspector. Adegeshin Famuyiwa told the court that the defendant committed the offence on March 3 at about 10 a.m. at Oreyo, Igbogbo Area in Ikorodu, Lagos State.

According to the prosecutor, the offence contravenes Section 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.

The Magistrate, Mr O.A. Ogbe, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 and two sureties in like sum.

Ogbe said the sureties must be gainfully employed with verifiable addresses and adjourned the case until September 18 for mention.
