Man, 23, in trouble over alleged N804, 429 theft

A 23-year-old man, Samuel Destiny, who allegedly stole N804,429, on Friday appeared before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.

Destiny, whose address was not provided, is facing a count charge of stealing to which he pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Inspector. Adegeshin Famuyiwa, told the court that the defendant committed the offences between April 13 and May 27, at No 1, Tunji Shofekun Street, Igbogbo area of Ikorodu.

Famuyiwa said the amount allegedly stolen belongs to TAGS farm shop ventures.

The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Sections 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Magistrate, Mr A. O. Ogbe, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

Ogbe said that one of the sureties must provide evidence of livelihood and be a blood relation.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that he subsequently adjourned the case until October 9, for mention.
