Malaria: Kebbi to distribute 3.16m treated nets

The Wife of Kebbi State Governor, Hajia Nafisa Nasir Idris, would lead the distribution of over three million mosquitoes treated nets in all the 21 Local Government Areas of the State.

Idris, was chosen and unveiled as the 2026 net Ambassador by the USAID- Global Health Supply Chain Programme- Procurement and Supply Management(GHSC-PSN) in Birnin Kebbi during the Global Agency’s investiture of the Governor’s Wife.

 

 

While speaking after her investiture, Hajia Nafisa Nasir Idris urged all the people of the State to play their roles to ensure total eradication of malaria disease in their areas.

She noted that the disease had caused a lot of setbacks in the families, death of loved ones, stressing that the free distribution of the treated nets would protect the people from the agents of malaria.

“Now we can be properly protected from the mosquitoes by sleeping inside the treated nets.  These treated nets will be distributed to all of us free of charge at the designated points. Everyone should play their role to reduce this disease by sleeping inside the treated nets,” she stated.

Earlier, the Campaign Manager of GHSC-PSN, Patience Ochibe, while congratulating Hajia Idris for the investiture, noted her sustained efforts in the health sector.

Ochibe said the Global agency valued her role and would continue to partner her and the state government for the development of the health sector.

She disclosed that one million, four hundred households would benefit from the distribution of the insecticide-treated nets which would kick off next week.
