Akinwumi-Adesina

The first Ogbomoso Economic Summit is to hold between November 23 and 24, 2022. A statement from the organisers of the summit, Ogbomoso Business Roundtable, said the President, Africa Development Bank, Dr Akinwumi Adesina, and Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, were some of the dignitaries expected at the summit. According to Benjamin Onigbinde, Chief Executive of Ogbomoso Business Roundtable, the theme of the summit is ‘Exploring Economic Potential of Ogbomosoland: Engage, Collaborate and Invest.’

He said the event was being organised to highlight the economic opportunities in Ogbomosoland to the  local and international communities as well as to policy makers, business leaders, academic and finance professionals.

Onigbinde said the intent was to generate vibrant discussions on the way to improve economic climate of the city. The summit will provide open platform for dialogue on how the city’s economy can turn from seemingly less active to the high-end business environment,” he noted. He added that the challenges of economic development of the five local governments of Ogbomoso were beyond what the local government administration and indigenous entrepreneurs could handle.
