A group, under the auspices of Arewa Youths Alliance for Good Governance and Sustainable Development has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing the immediate past Governor of River State, Nyesom Wike, as the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, (FCT).

Leader of the group, Alhaji Shehu Tambaya, gave the commendation while speaking with newsmen in Makurdi, on Saturday, with a call on the new Minister to make the city home for all.

Tambaya said “As a group, we are very much concerned with good governance and sustainable development. We have looked carefully into the leadership style of the former Governor of Rivers State, Dr. Nyesom Wike. During his administration as Governor, he changed the face of infrastructure in Rivers state which earned him award as the best performing Governor in the region.

“Dr Wike performed very well in Rivers State and appointing him as the Minister of FCT is one of the right decisions President Tinubu has taken in his cabinet and we believe strongly that Wike will bring his wealth of experience and developmental strides to bear on the FCT.”

“We want to appeal to everyone living in the FCT to team up and support the Minster for good governance and dividends of democracy to the country”

“For us as a group will believe that Wike will replicate what he has done in his State during his time as the Governor to FCT which will create a more conducive and better Federal Capital Territory for all Nigerians to thrive”

The group leader also solicited for support for the minister, cautioned those he referred to as money bags politicians not to use the people against him to enable him succeed in his assignment.
