Former Governor of Kaduna State Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi has called on Nigerians to strengthen their resolve to confront and overcome the country’s challenges, leveraging their diversity as a source of strength.

In a New Year message, Makarfi acknowledged the economic hardships, insecurity, and uncertainties of 2025, but emphasised that the new year offers an opportunity for Nigerians to unite and work together towards a promising destiny.

“As we look ahead, we must continue to carry on with courage, industry, and faith in the promise of Nigeria, leveraging on our diversity in both human and material resources,” Makarfi said.

He stressed that Nigeria’s diversity is its biggest source of strength and urged Nigerians to use it to foster mutual respect, sustained dialogue, and collaboration to build a better nation.

Makarfi appealed to governments at all levels to intensify efforts to address insecurity and introduce measures to ease the economic difficulties facing the country.

“It is my fervent prayer that God Almighty brings forth a 2026 and beyond that heralds renewed unity and peace, improved security, economic recovery, and greater opportunities for all Nigerians,” he said.

Makarfi wished Nigerians a Happy New Year, saying, “May God continue to bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
