Frontline 2027 governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Musa Muhammed Maikaya (Chiroman Toto), on Monday met with the former Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi (Walin Opanda), at his Abuja residence in a strategic bid to strengthen alliances and deepen grassroots engagement.
Addressing journalists after the meeting, Maikaya said his ongoing consultations aim to build a broad-based coalition prioritising peace, development, and inclusive governance.
“We are engaging leaders across the State because the future of Nasarawa requires collective effort,” he stated.
“Our commitment is to unity, tolerance, and a development-driven leadership that places the people first. This aligns perfectly with my philosophy of ‘Fresh Vision, Real Impact’—we are determined to translate vision into tangible results for our people.”
He stressed the importance of continued dialogue and collaboration as politics moves towards an issue-based approach focused on poverty reduction, job creation, security, and improved livelihoods.
“This is a critical moment for us as a State,” he added. “Our people want leadership that listens and leadership that delivers.”

The former Speaker, Rt Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, praised Maikaya’s visit as evidence of political maturity and respect for the values of consultation.
“I appreciate this engagement,” Balarabe said. “Politics should be about cooperation and service. When leaders interact in this manner, it strengthens peace and our democracy.”
He encouraged political actors across party lines to pursue unity and progress for Nasarawa, emphasising that development thrives in an atmosphere of stability and mutual respect.
“We need more of these conversations. Leaders must continue to build bridges for the good of our communities,” he added.
Analysts conclude that the meeting further consolidates Maikaya’s influence within the APC as he steps up outreach to critical stakeholders across the State.
With 2027 approaching, Maikaya’s engagements form a deliberate strategy to strengthen political synergy and keep development and people-focused governance at the heart of Nasarawa’s emerging political discourse.
