… Describes Reconstruction and Dualisation as Major Boost to Connectivity and Economic Growth
Hon. Suleiman Abubakar Magaji has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the Federal Government’s approximately ₦1.5 trillion highway project in Niger State, describing the planned reconstruction and dualisation of the 376-kilometre Lambata–Bida–Mokwa–Makera–Kontagora Federal Highway as a major investment in national infrastructure and economic development.
Speaking to journalists at the flag-off and groundbreaking ceremony in Bida, Magaji said the project, which incorporates reinforced concrete pavement, has the potential to improve connectivity, ease the movement of people and goods, and strengthen commercial activities across Niger State and neighbouring areas.
He noted that the highway would be particularly beneficial to farmers, traders, transport operators and businesses that depend on efficient transportation to access markets and distribute goods.
According to him, improved road infrastructure would help connect rural communities to economic opportunities, facilitate the movement of agricultural produce to commercial centres and support businesses along the corridor.

“This is the kind of infrastructure investment that can make a lasting difference in the lives of ordinary Nigerians. Beyond the construction itself, the real value lies in the opportunities it creates for our people, our businesses and our communities,” Magaji said.
He expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for prioritising critical infrastructure and acknowledged the importance of collaboration between the Federal Government and state authorities in delivering projects with long-term economic benefits.
Magaji also commended Niger State Governor, Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago, for his continued engagement with development priorities in the state, while recognising the role of the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi, in communicating government initiatives to the public.
He called for high construction standards, effective supervision and timely completion of the highway, stressing that the project’s ultimate success would be measured by the improvements it delivers to transportation, commerce and the livelihoods of communities along the corridor.
