A former deputy governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere, has declared his intention to contest the Owerri Senatorial seat in 2027 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), promising a paradigm shift in representation.

Speaking in Owerri, he said the zone needs impactful and inclusive leadership, describing himself as equipped with a people-oriented blueprint.

“Owerri Senatorial Zone deserves the best in the next National Assembly. I have the capacity and experience to deliver,” he said.

He cited the PDP’s grassroots strength and national spread as reasons for choosing the platform, adding that he is focused on consultations and mobilisation.

“I am determined. With my experience and exposure, I stand a strong chance of securing the party’s ticket,” he said.

He maintained that voters would ultimately decide the outcome.

Madumere described himself as a technocrat and stressed that Owerri requires excellent representation, not experimentation.

He promised youth empowerment, infrastructure revival, and human capital development.
