Chelsea won’t accept any offer less than £28.5m (equating to N58.3 billion in Nigerian currency) for England U21 international of Nigerian descent, Noni Madueke who is drawing concrete interest from Newcastle United, according to The Athletic.
The report stated that the Blues signed the talented forward for the same amount from PSV Eindhoven and are determined not to lose him this summer for a lesser fee.
The place of the 22-year-old in Chelsea’s rank has become doubtful due to the arrival of Pedro Neto and the possible signing of João Félix and as a result the Premier League giant isn’t opposed to letting him leave.
Newcastle is the only club linked with the England youth international at the moment with the club preparing for the possible departure of Miguel Almirón. The Paraguay forward has been linked with Charlotte FC but the Major League Soccer outfit has ended interest in him and it remains to be seen how that will affect the Magpies’ pursuit of Madueke.
The Magpies will offer the former PSV forward a new lease of life in the Premier League and more opportunity to play regularly due to lesser competition available for him at the club.
The team is ready to bounce back from last season’s disappointment and has signed five players in this transfer window, with one of them being Danish-Nigerian striker, William Osula.
