Ademola Lookman delivered an impressive performance despite Atlético Madrid’s 3–2 defeat to Real Madrid in a thrilling Madrid derby at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

The highly anticipated clash was celebrated in Lagos through a LaLiga watch party held at The Glass House Lounge, where Nigerian football fans gathered to experience the excitement live.

The event featured vibrant entertainment, with popular host MC Lively engaging attendees and distributing prizes throughout the evening.

On the pitch, Lookman put Atlético ahead in the 33rd minute, finishing off a swift move involving Ruggeri and Simeone to net his second LaLiga goal of the season. The visitors went into halftime with the lead, but the momentum shifted dramatically after the break.

Real Madrid equalized in the 51st minute after Vinícius Júnior converted a penalty, sending goalkeeper Musso the wrong way. Just three minutes later, Federico Valverde gave the hosts the advantage, capitalizing on a defensive lapse to score with a composed finish.

Atlético responded with renewed energy, and substitute Nahuel Molina leveled the score with a stunning long-range effort that left goalkeeper Lunin helpless.

However, Vinícius proved decisive once again, curling home a superb winner after a clever buildup involving Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Despite Valverde’s late red card and sustained pressure from Atlético—including multiple attempts by Julián Álvarez—Real Madrid held on to secure all three points.

The result sees Atlético Madrid drop to fourth place in the LaLiga standings, now trailing Villarreal CF by one point.

Speaking after the event, Desmond Chiji, LaLiga Delegate for Nigeria and Ghana, described the watch party as “just the tip of the iceberg,” hinting at more fan-focused initiatives to bring the league closer to supporters.

He also teased an even bigger event on May 10—a Clásico watch party featuring FC Barcelona and Real Madrid at Spotify Camp Nou.
