Labour Party’s Manuchim Umezuruike has been elected to represent Port Harcourt Constituency 1 of Rivers State at the Federal House of Representatives.
According to the returning officer, Dr Onutu Richard, Umezuruike polled a total of 22,459 votes to defeat the PDP candidate in the contest.
In a press statement, yesterday, Umezuruike expressed gratitude to his people for ensuring his victory at the polls.
“I am honoured and humbled to be entrusted with the task of representing the Phalga Constituency 1 of Rivers State at a time like this. This victory is for God, my party and the people of my constituency. It is a mandate for true progress and development,” he said.
