The African Network for Peace, Progress and Development (ANPPD) has expressed optimism that the Supreme Court ruling that granted financial autonomy to local government would develop rural areas.
ANPPD President Prince Elias Odoemena, in a statement on Tuesday, explained that the ruling will expose the atrocities of state governors, who sit on funds meant for the development of rural communities.

According to him, some state governors who siphoned local government funds were not happy with the judgement.
He said local government chairmen would understand that it is no longer business as usual but time for them to think about how to add to the development of the local governments they are in charge.
