Lobi Stars of Makurdi have faulted Nigeria Football Federation, NFF for failing to follow up the club’s allegation of match fixing raised against Wydad Casablanca of Morocco in the CAF Champions League.

Following the Makurdi-based side’s exit from the continental terrain in the group stage, footballlive.ng can report that the Nigerian champions believe they could have got something out of their protest.

A successful protest could have seen the Pride of Benue move into the next round by default, with Wydad probably thrown out by the continental soccer governing body, but they have served a hint that the NFF did not follow up their protest.

That much was served in a post on social media by Lobi Statrs, which pointed out that it was not in their duty to pursue their protest to a logical end, but went on to thank the government and people of Enugu State for supporting them in their home matches.

Due to CAF’s verdict that Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi had structural defects and that the city’s airport was not up to standard required to receive international teams, the club had to play their home games in nearby Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.
