Lobi Stars Football Club FC, has defeated Kada Warriors by a one goal score in a rescheduled National Nigeria League, (NNL), match.

The match played Wednesday evening was the Lobi Stars last home game as the season wind down with high expectation from the fans.

The solitary goal of the match was scored in the run off to the first half by attacker Suur Kumaga who converted from the penalty spot.

Lobi player Dominic Foga was brought down inside the spot and the center referee pointed straight to the spot.

Kumaga stepped out and struck the ball sending the keeper the wrong way to secure the goal.

In the second half, the Stars attempted to increase the tally but failed to convert chances as the away side owned by former Super Eagles winger Garba Lawal also came close to equalizing.

Speaking with Sports writers at the end of the match, Head Coach, Lobi Stars John Onuh said although he is pleased with the performance of his side, they lost several chances to increase their goals.

Onuh expressed regrets that he could not take the team back to the elite division but said he is contended with their outing.

“There are a lot of things to overhaul. I took over the team at the end of the first round of the season. I had to work hard and the boys also cooperated. We injected few players to ensure a turn around but as you can see, we still need to make a lot of changes in the team so that we can prepare well and get the promotion we really need back to Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL”. Onuh said.

Our correspondent reports that the state owned bank, Novus bank presented a check of N50,000 to the man of the match, Valantine Egiga.
