…NFF appoints Jegede-Idakwo, Omodiaghe to assist Akeem Busari

The Executive Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation has endorsed the recommendation of the Federation’s Technical and Development Committee, for the appointments of assistant coaches for the U17 Girls’ National Team, Flamingos.

Former international defender Joy Jegede-Idakwo has been appointed as first assistant, with another former international, Aighewi Omodiaghe as second assistant.

Yet another former Nigeria international Kola Ige has been appointed as the goalkeepers’ trainer.

Jegede -Idakwo captained the U20 Women National Team, Falconets and then won several caps for the senior team, Super Falcons. Omodiaghe was a member of the Nigeria U17 girls that featured at the inaugural edition of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup finals in New Zealand in 2008.

The three will assist Head Coach Akeem Ishola Busari as the Flamingos seek a spot at this year’s FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup finals in Morocco, and with the objective of surpassing the third-place finish of the Class of 2022.
