In the tradition of Lions Club International to fight preventable blindness eradicate Type 2 Diabetes, Anthony Village Simon Lions Club recently held free eye screening and distribution of reading glasses.
Thry also did tests for diabetes and High blood pressure, screening especially indigent patients and held seminar on the management of Type 2 diabetes.
The event was at the Dominion Assembly Church, Ajao Estate Lagos.
A total of 120 people were screened for both diseases. Eighty five reading glasses were given and five patients for cataract surgery were identified and scheduled for free surgery.
Participants were educated on how to manage Type 2 diabetes and how to avoid it by eating right, exercising and watching their weight.
