In line with his administration’s ‘Light up UNIZIK’ mantra, one of the key components of his BLESSeD Vision for the university, Acting Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Prof Joseph Ikechebelu, has ensured the activation of public power supply at the College of Health Sciences, Okofia, Nnewi campus of the university.
Owing to an energy crisis, the campus has been without electricity for some time now until last Sunday, 2nd March 2025, when energy was restored as part of the ongoing efforts by the Acting Vice-Chancellor to improve electricity across the institution.
A statement from the Public Relations Unit of the university disclosed that, with the efforts of the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof Joseph I. Ikechebelu, the campus has been reconnected and power restored.

Students at the campus have expressed relief and optimism following the restoration, citing its positive impact on academic activities and campus life.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor has reiterated the university’s dedication to resolving power challenges and sustaining reliable electricity across all campuses of the university in Awka, Agulu, and Nnewi.
