LG Electronics has showcased its latest artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled consumer technologies at the Africa Technology Expo (ATE) 2026, where industry stakeholders explored the growing role of digital technologies in homes, businesses and public services across the continent.
The two-day event brought together technology companies, policymakers, entrepreneurs and innovators to discuss emerging digital trends and opportunities for collaboration within Africa’s expanding technology ecosystem.
As one of the event’s supporting sponsors, LG demonstrated a range of AI-powered and connected home appliances, including the LG QNED television, MoodUP refrigerator, WashTower laundry system, ARTCOOL air conditioner, Air Tower, dehumidifiers and other smart devices.
Speaking at the event, the Managing Director of LG Electronics West Africa, H.S. Ji said the company remains committed to developing innovative technologies that improve everyday living through enhanced connectivity, convenience and energy efficiency.

According to him, LG’s participation underscores its commitment to supporting Africa’s digital transformation by introducing intelligent consumer technologies designed for homes and workplaces.
The exhibition also highlighted the increasing adoption of artificial intelligence and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies in consumer electronics. Live demonstrations showed how connected devices can seamlessly interact within a single ecosystem to enhance user convenience, improve efficiency and optimise energy consumption.
Organisers of the Africa Technology Expo said the annual event was established to foster collaboration among African businesses, startups, multinational companies and public institutions involved in technology and innovation.
